Apple in 2023: AR/VR headset, iPhone 15 series, and other devices we can expect

2023 is here and so is our wish list for Apple devices. This year, we expect the Cupertino-based company to finally unveil its Augmented Reality (AR) / Virtual Reality (VR) glasses along with its new iPhone lineup and new Watch series. Here’s everything we can expect from the tech giant for its 2023 launch

Apple AR / VR headset

Apple is expected to finally take the lid off its mixed reality headset in 2023. The company has been working on the device for two years now. Likely to be unveiled in early to mid 2023, the headset is rumored to combine virtual and augmented reality. It is expected to be called Reality Pro or Reality One.

In terms of design, Apple’s mixed reality headset is said to come with a curved front screen that covers the screen. It is expected to feature a lightweight design than those available in the market now. It may offer 4K micro OLED displays with up to 3,000ppi and is rumored to come with an iris scanner.

Apple iPhone 15 series

The 2023 iPhone lineup is rumored to include the standard iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, and the all-new iPhone 15 Ultra. The smartphones are expected to be unveiled in September as always. The design may seem generic, however an Apple It is said to offer a titanium body for the Pro models. Apple is also rumored to offer a USB Type-C charging port with the iPhone 15 series. It is expected to support USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt data transfer speeds of up to 40Gb/s.

The high-end smartphones under the series may come powered by A17 processor and may offer up to 8GB of RAM. On the other hand, the standard model is rumored to be powered by the A16 chipset.

Apple Homepod

According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the company is working on a mid-range Homepod. It is expected to debut in early 2023. It may come powered by the S8 chip and is expected to come with a touch screen.

Apple MacBook Pro with 14-inch and 16-inch screens

The new models of the MacBook Pro are expected to come powered by the ‌M2 Pro and ‌M2‌ Max chipsets. According to rumors, the ‌M2‌ Max chip could come with up to 12-core CPU and up to 38-core GPU.

MacBook Air (15-inch)

The MacBook Air (15-inch) will likely be announced in spring 2023, and is expected to have a similar design to the 2022 MacBook Air‌ 13-inch. It may have flat edges with a large Force Touch trackpad, a keyboard with function keys, and is fanless.

Apple Watch Series 9

The Apple Watch Series 9 will likely debut in fall 2023, and may come with new features such as the ability to monitor blood glucose and blood pressure. The company is also expected to update the Watch SE and Watch Ultra lineup.

Apple AirPods Max (2nd generation)

Apple introduced the AirPods Max in 2020. The company is likely to update its lineup with the second generation AirPods Max in 2023.

The new iPad mini and iPad Air

Apple may update the iPad Air with the M2 processor. The iPad mini and iPad Air 2023 models may both arrive in late 2023.

Apple Mac Pro

Apple is said to be developing a new version of the ‌Mac Pro with Apple Silicon chips. The device may be unveiled in the first half of 2023. It is expected to be equipped with up to 24-core CPU, up to 76-core GPU, and up to 192GB of RAM.
